Many people are accustomed to lying on a mattress that does not provide good spinal alignment. When lying on a properly supportive surface, the muscles in the lower back may seem to get tight as they “remember” their usual position. After a few nights, the muscles in the lower back typically relax, and the muscle discomfort will resolve. You can help this by relaxing as much as possible and allowing the mattress to conform to and support the body. We recommend sleeping on your new mattress for at least 30-45 days to allow your body the opportunity to adjust to this new mattress.
