Is there formaldehyde in your mattresses?

Formaldehyde occurs naturally in the environment, is present in American homes, in many of the foods we eat, and in our bodies, but it is not, however, a raw ingredient in our proprietary Sealy® foam. Like many consumer products used and worn by consumers every day, trace amounts of formaldehyde may be detected occasionally, which, in some instances, result from the manufacturing and/or shipping process. If formaldehyde is detected around or near these products, the amounts detected are well below any that would bring about safety concerns.
